Love sport? Passionate about empowering girls and women? Ready to make a real impact across Northland?
We're looking for an energetic, motivated and people-focused Female Development Officer to help grow the game of cricket for girls and women throughout Northland.
This is more than a coaching role. You'll be inspiring the next generation, creating exciting opportunities, building strong relationships with schools and clubs, and leading initiatives that make cricket fun, welcoming and accessible for everyone.
What you'll be doing
- Champion girls' and women's cricket across Northland.
- Deliver fun and engaging cricket programmes in schools and clubs.
- Create exciting participation events, festivals and competitions.
- Build strong relationships with clubs, volunteers, teachers and community groups.
- Help develop a welcoming and inclusive cricket community where everyone belongs.
- Share great stories and celebrate the successes happening across our region.
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves working with people, especially young people.
- Is passionate about community sport and making a difference.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is organised, motivated and enjoys working independently.
- Brings enthusiasm, positivity and fresh ideas.
- Can work flexible hours during the cricket season.
- Holds a full, clean driver's license.
Experience in cricket or community sport is a bonus, but your passion, energy and ability to connect with people matter most.
Why join Northland Cricket?
Every day is different. One day you'll be introducing children to cricket for the first time, the next you'll be helping clubs grow, running tournaments, creating exciting opportunities for girls and women, or delivering events that inspire lifelong participation.
You'll join a passionate team committed to growing cricket across one of New Zealand's most unique and diverse regions, where your work will have a genuine and lasting impact on communities throughout Northland.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time fixed-term position from 1 September 2026 to 30 April 2027. We're committed to growing cricket across Northland, and there is potential for the role to continue beyond this period if participation growth, organisational priorities and funding support its ongoing success.
