It gives me great pleasure to announce Jon Webster’s appointment as the new General Manager of SCG Cricket. Jon replaces Steve Thomlinson, who is moving on to pursue other interests, and we would like to thank Steve for his stewardship over the past two years.

Jon brings with him a wealth of experience, both professionally and personally, that aligns perfectly with our club’s values and aspirations. I look forward to working together as we continue to achieve great things on and off the field.

Jon said: “Sydney Cricket Club and the SCG XI have such a rich history and tradition of success. I am honoured to take on the role of General Manager. With the incredible support of the Board, partners, sponsors, players, and our dedicated volunteers — the ‘secret sauce’ of this club — I am excited for the opportunities in 2025 and beyond. By embracing transparency, inclusion and open communication, we can ensure a strong, connected and thriving future for the club.”

Jon will officially start his role on 1 February 2025, please join me in congratulating Jon on his appointment and welcoming him to the role.

– Rod Chapman, Chair, SCG Cricket
