Scotland all-rounder draws inspiration from The Hundred as she prepares for national duty in Thailand
Katherine Fraser, one of five Scotland Women’s internationals to participate in The Hundred 2025, is looking to carry valuable lessons from her time with the Northern Superchargers into upcoming international campaigns, including the Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand this November.
The 20-year-old all-rounder made her tournament debut after being selected as a Wildcard pick by the Headingley-based franchise, contributing in two matches during a championship-winning season for the Superchargers.
“A really special experience” – Fraser on The Hundred debut
“Getting to be a part of The Hundred with the Superchargers this year was a really special experience, with the highlight being the final at Lord’s,” said Fraser. “The whole day was a fantastic occasion, especially with it being at such a historic venue and the atmosphere was incredible.”
Fraser had the opportunity to play alongside international stars including Phoebe Litchfield, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, and Nicola Carey, soaking in knowledge both on and off the field.
“The most valuable part of the tournament for me was just getting to see how some of the best players in the world go about their game, and how they prepare in training to play at such a high level.”
She also credited Kristen Beams, former Australian leg-spinner and bowling coach for the Superchargers, for her influence and mentorship during the season.
“I was just trying to learn as much as possible from her,” Fraser added.
Memorable debut vs Southern Brave
Fraser made her debut in a high-profile clash against Southern Brave, a moment she described as “really special.”
“It was something I wasn’t really expecting, but I just tried to enjoy it and soak up the experience. Obviously, it was disappointing not to get the win, but it was nice to be able to contribute a bit with the ball.”
Focus shifts to Scotland’s Emerging Nations Trophy campaign
With domestic commitments wrapped up, Fraser’s attention now turns to international duty as Scotland Women prepare for the Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand this November — followed by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in January.
“The Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand will be a great event to be a part of. It gives us the chance to play against teams we haven’t faced before, which will be a different challenge. It’s also excellent preparation for the World Cup Qualifier.”
“I’m looking forward to being back with the girls,” Fraser said. “We’re all excited to have the opportunity to win a trophy for Scotland — which will be the aim!”
Scotland will look to build on their growing presence on the global stage, with players like Fraser gaining top-level experience through tournaments like The Hundred.
