Online, Shahoshi Rani became a viral movement — with over 11 million views and 600,000+ social media engagements — demonstrating the power of storytelling fused with impact.
Spotlighting courage through film and fandom
The initiative culminated in a campaign film unveiled at the prestigious Knight Golf 2025 event, attended by KKR CEO Venky Mysore, team captain Ajinkya Rahane, and mentor DJ Bravo. The film spotlighted real stories of transformation and courage, reflecting the team’s motto: Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo.
Forty women featured in the initiative — dubbed the Shahoshi Ranis — were honored with a special day at Eden Gardens. During a dedicated KKR training session, players and staff wore jerseys bearing the names of these women, offering a symbolic and emotional tribute. Some players even gifted their personalized jerseys to the Shahoshi Ranis in moving moments of recognition.
Juhi Chawla, fan stories, and expanding the message
KKR co-owner Juhi Chawla, a long-time advocate for women’s empowerment and environmental causes, engaged with the honorees — underscoring KKR’s deep, sustained commitment to social impact.
Fans were also invited to join the movement through an interactive Shahoshi Rani photobooth at Eden Gardens. Supporters shared their own stories of courage on social media, using the campaign’s branding to extend its emotional and viral reach.
Shahoshi Rani: a long-term movement, not a moment
Shahoshi Rani is not just a CSR campaign — it’s a movement. A tribute to the unseen strength within women across India, and a reflection of Kolkata Knight Riders’ commitment to lasting social change.
Through real-world impact and resonant digital storytelling, KKR continues to redefine the role of sports teams in community transformation.
