With the Pakistan Super League gearing up for a landmark shift to eight teams in its upcoming 11th season, continuity has arrived from some of its most iconic franchises. Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators have each signed new 10-year agreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board, confirming their continued presence in the league for the next decade.
The official confirmations came via PCB press releases issued on November 24, while Lahore Qalandars were first to publicly declare their renewal through a social media announcement. “Lahore Qalandars proudly renew their PSL commitment for another 10 years! Each of the three franchises has accepted the updated franchise valuations assessed by global audit firm Ernst & Young — a key element of the new agreements shared with all existing teams except Multan Sultans, who were excluded from the valuation process. Karachi Kings and Islamabad United are also yet to finalize their renewals, with the PCB’s franchise lineup for the next PSL cycle still taking shape amid ongoing discussions and potential ownership changes.

Among the earliest to confirm their renewal, Lahore Qalandars’ decision reflects a franchise confident in its trajectory. Having evolved from early struggles to become the PSL’s only team to win three titles under current ownership — including back-to-back championships — the Qalandars have embraced the next decade with ambition and strategic clarity.

Peshawar Zalmi commit to a visionary future
Peshawar Zalmi, 2017 champions and one of the league’s most followed and commercially successful franchises, have also renewed their franchise rights for another 10 years. The decision reinforces their long-term belief in the PSL’s growth as a sporting property and solidifies the leadership of owner Javed Afridi — a key figure in the team’s rise. The franchise also announced the renewal via a post on Twitter, marking the beginning of a new era.
