Lord’s Cricket Ground will host the largest one-day showcase of disability cricket ever staged in the UK on Wednesday, June 25, as the MCC, ECB, and Lord’s Taverners present Disability Cricket Day.
The event will feature a full day of cricket and inclusive activities, headlined by the England Men’s Mixed Disability team facing India in the third match of their Mixed Disability Vitality IT20 series, starting at 3:30 PM.
Full day of inclusive cricket at the Home of Cricket
The day will begin with a Disability Exhibition Match between MCC and Middlesex Disability teams on the main ground, while the Nursery Ground hosts a Visually Impaired exhibition match.
Other highlights include:
- National Table Cricket Finals – a competitive showcase of adapted cricket for young people with physical and learning disabilities, beginning at 9:30 AM in the Nursery Pavilion.
- Softball Cricket Competition – for pupils from special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) schools.
- Super 1s showcase – a national program providing cricket access to young people with disabilities.
Conference to highlight role of disability cricket
A dedicated conference will be held during the event, featuring representatives from MCC, ECB, Lord’s Taverners, and Toyota (ECB’s Principal Partner and Champion of Disability Cricket). The session will explore the strategic importance of disability cricket, with a special emphasis on growing mixed disability formats.
