The first allocation of tickets for Sunday’s KFC BBL|15 Final exhausted just 34 minutes after going on sale to the public.
All remaining tickets go on sale at 10am AWST on Saturday, as the Scorchers look to eclipse the record home crowd of 53,886 that attended the thrilling BBL|12 decider.
The match is expected to be a sell-out and follows a trend of huge attendances across BBL|15.
BBL|15 will welcome its one millionth fan through the gates tonight in Hobart, with overall season attendance is currently sitting at 995,339.
Tickets are still available to the Challenger, with the Sixers set to host the winner of the Knockout at the SCG on Friday night.
The Scorchers earned hosting rights for the marquee fixture last night by toppling the Sixers in last night’s thrilling Qualifier.
Adding to the Final, Aussie indie rockers The Jungle Giants will headline the entertainment with two sets on the KFC FLG Stage – one pre-game, and another during the innings break.
Every KFC BBL|15 Finals match will be broadcast live on Seven, 7plus, Foxtel and Kayo Sports, with radio coverage on ABC Sport and SEN.
Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager, Big Bash Leagues, said:
“The fact all available tickets for the final were sold within 34 minutes of going on sale is yet another indication of the enormous interest in the BBL this season.
“With three massive finals ahead of us, the stage is set for an historic finish to the KFC BBL|15 season.
“The occasion will be a fitting end to a memorable summer of Big Bash, which has seen record audiences and attendances witness a remarkable season of world class cricket, close contests and memorable moments.”
