Queensland Cricket opens Expressions of Interest for First Nations Advisory Committee
Queensland Cricket is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals interested in joining its First Nations Cricket Advisory Committee. The initiative supports the growth and development of cricket among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Queensland.
The committee plays a crucial role in guiding Queensland Cricket’s strategies to promote participation, representation, and culturally appropriate programs that align with Reconciliation and Closing the Gap objectives.
Who Queensland Cricket is looking for
Applicants for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Committee Member positions must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate diverse cultural geographies, networks, and an understanding of community affairs
- Have an interest in cricket and its potential to support Reconciliation and community development
- Bring professional experience on boards, advisory committees, or similar structures — in sport, education, business, health, or the arts
Application and selection process
Interested individuals are required to submit a written application by 5pm AEST on 14 September 2025 to [email protected].
A terms of reference document is available for applicants outlining the committee’s scope and responsibilities.
Following the application deadline, a selection panel will review all EOIs and create a shortlist of candidates for interviews. Final recommendations will then be submitted to the Queensland Cricket Board for review and endorsement.
About the First Nations Cricket Advisory Committee
The committee meets formally several times a year and acts as a key advisory body to Queensland Cricket. It ensures the voices of First Nations peoples are embedded in the governance and future planning of cricket programs throughout the state.
