Queensland Cricket welcomes architect appointment for Brisbane Stadium ahead of 2032 Olympics

Queensland Cricket congratulates the Queensland Government on today’s announcement that it has appointed the Brisbane Stadium Principal Architects ahead of the the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Queensland Cricket Chief Executive Officer Terry Svenson said:

“We welcome the appointment of COX and Hassell, and stadium specialist Azusa Sekkei, to prepare the Stadium design. It’s another exciting stage in the build-up to what will be a game-changer for sport in Brisbane and Queensland.”

“We’re enjoying another strong summer at the Gabba with the Brisbane Heat, which comes off the back of an excellent Ashes Test for Brisbane.

“We look forward to working with the Government, the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority and the Stadium designers for what lies ahead as the Victoria Park precinct plans come to life following today’s announcement.”
