The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced its squad for the Hong Kong Sixes 2025, with veteran all-rounder Sharad Vesawkar set to lead the team in what will be his final appearance for Nepal. The tournament, known for its fast-paced six-a-side format, will be held from November 7 to 9 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.
Nepal’s seven-member squad for the event includes:

A farewell to a cricketing icon
Vesawkar’s inclusion marks a sentimental moment for Nepal cricket. Debuting in 2004, he has been a key figure in the national team’s rise—from competing in ICC Division Five to playing in World Cup Qualifiers and T20 World Cups. Known for his composure under pressure and clutch performances, Vesawkar’s leadership and consistency have defined a generation of Nepali cricket.
CAN honored the departing legend in a tribute post on social media:

Nepal grouped with South Africa and Afghanistan
Nepal has been placed in Group A alongside South Africa and Afghanistan. The 2025 edition of the Hong Kong Sixes features a global lineup, with 12 teams split across four groups:
- Group A: Nepal, South Africa, Afghanistan
- Group B: Australia, England, UAE
- Group C: India, Pakistan, Kuwait
- Group D: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong
Each match will consist of six overs per side, with six players per team, promising rapid-fire action, big hitting, and fast finishes—perfect for a cricketing spectacle and a fitting stage for Vesawkar’s swansong.
