The wicket was declared open recently, and the school plans to play U15 and U19 cricket. Dr. J. Sumedha Jayaweera, the principal of the school, thanked Sri Lanka Cricket for helping the school start playing the game.

Methmi Adithya, the captain of the school U19 team, said they are happy that the school got a practice wicket and will use it to build a good team, and the girls also aim to represent the national team in the future.
