TNT Sports to bring fans closer to the Ashes with immersive live coverage and daily highlights
TNT Sports has officially unveiled its comprehensive production plans for the highly anticipated NRMA Ashes Series, committing to a dynamic on-site broadcast operation and all-access analysis designed to bring UK and Ireland audiences closer than ever to the historic England-Australia rivalry.
All five Tests will be broadcast live across TNT Sports and discovery+, complemented by daytime highlights and a nightly primetime review show, The Edge, presented from the network’s London studio. With former internationals embedded in the England camp and a host of special guests joining throughout the series, TNT Sports promises fans an unrivalled look inside one of cricket’s most iconic contests.
The broadcaster has confirmed that presenter Becky Ives will lead the coverage live from Australia, joined by former England stars Sir Alastair Cook, Graeme Swann, and Steven Finn — a trio with ten Ashes series wins and 257 Test caps between them. Commentary will be delivered by Alastair Eykyn and Rob Hatch, with Ebony Rainford-Brent, Cook, Swann and Finn contributing across co-commentary roles.
A full-strength broadcast team with Ashes pedigree
Sir Alastair Cook, England’s all-time leading Test run scorer and a four-time Ashes winner, expressed his belief that the current England squad has the potential to do something extraordinary in Australia.
“The Ashes is always one of the tours you look forward to — it’s one of the toughest challenges in cricket. Winning a Test series in Australia is incredibly rare for touring sides. I’ve experienced both the highs of victory and the disappointment of falling short over there, but there’s a real buzz around this England team. You get the sense they’re capable of doing something special this time,” said Cook in an official statement.
Joining Cook on the ground, presenter Becky Ives described the opportunity as a personal career highlight.
“As a lifelong cricket fan who grew up scoring matches and still follows the game closely today, it’s an enormous privilege to be leading TNT Sports’ coverage of The Ashes. It’s one of the most iconic events in the world of sport, and to have the opportunity to present the series alongside some of the modern greats of the English game, sharing the story of each Test with millions of viewers across the UK and Ireland, is a true career highlight. I’m incredibly excited to get started,” said Ives in an official statement.
Former England off-spinner Graeme Swann echoed the sentiment, underlining the prestige of an Ashes tour in Australia.
“An Ashes series in Australia is the absolute pinnacle for any English cricketer. It’s what you dream of when you’re coming through club and then county cricket. While Australia are a formidable side on home soil, and circumstances have tended to conspire against the England side on recent tours there, I’d back this England team to give the series a real shake,” said Swann in an official statement.
Steven Finn, who played in three Ashes-winning squads, predicted a close and fiercely contested series.
“When you are growing up, the Ashes is the series you want to play in and the one where you make your name. Playing in front of packed houses in the huge stadiums in Australia is the stuff dreams are made of. I have a feeling this will be a really tight, topsy-turvy series where every session could decide the fate of the Test match. There are some world-class players on show, and this has the makings of a classic series with England trying to win in Australia for the first time in 15 years,” said Finn in an official statement.
Ebony Rainford-Brent, another key voice in the coverage, pointed to the fine margins that could define this year’s series.
“The Ashes has always been more than just a cricket series — it’s a test of nerve, skill, and spirit. This time, it may be decided by the finest of margins, with Australia’s world-class pace attack setting the tone. For England, much will depend on how their batters stand up to that challenge — and how the travelling squad copes with everything that comes with an Ashes tour, both on and off the field,” said Rainford-Brent in an official statement.

In addition to the live match broadcasts and commentary, TNT Sports will deliver The Edge, a studio-based prime-time review show hosted by Craig Doyle after each day’s play. With expert guests and in-depth analysis, the programme will dissect the day’s key moments and standout performances, providing fans with expert perspective beyond the scorecard.
Viewers on discovery+ will also have access to timeline markers throughout the live streams, allowing them to quickly revisit crucial plays and highlights.
TNT Sports’ Ashes coverage is part of a larger winter programming slate that includes England’s white-ball tour of New Zealand (October–November), and their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka in January 2026. The network will also continue covering top-tier global sports throughout the Ashes period, including rugby, football, MotoGP, and European competitions.
