FanCode has secured the exclusive digital streaming rights in India for the third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), giving the Nepalese franchise T20 competition a dedicated distribution platform in one of cricket’s largest markets.

The agreement covers all 32 matches of NPL Season 3, which runs from October 26 to November 21 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal.

The tournament opened on October 26 with defending champions Lumbini Lions securing a seven-wicket victory over Sudur Paschim Royals. After restricting the Royals to 87, the Lions chased down the 88-run target in just 9.5 overs, finishing with 61 balls remaining.

For the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the partnership represents an opportunity to build on growing interest in Nepalese cricket among Indian audiences. It also adds another international competition to FanCode’s cricket portfolio as the platform expands its range of live sports coverage.

FanCode partnership expands NPL’s reach in India

The partnership builds on FanCode‘s existing role in bringing Nepalese cricket to Indian viewers, particularly those who have followed the national team’s performances in international tournaments.

CAN General Manager Utsav Dhungana highlighted that connection in a statement, saying: “FanCode has helped us take Nepal cricket to fans across India, and we’ve seen during the World Cup that there is a strong base of Indian fans following our progress and cheering for us. With ICC sanction, this year’s edition of the Nepal Premier League promises to be bigger than ever and I’m sure fans will follow it in large numbers.”

The agreement gives the NPL an opportunity to develop its audience outside Nepal, with India representing an important market for the competition’s international visibility.

International stars headline NPL Season 3

The third edition features a group of established international cricketers, including David Warner, Andre Russell, Sikandar Raza and Moeen Ali.

Their participation adds an international dimension to the tournament while providing opportunities for emerging Nepalese players to compete alongside experienced overseas professionals.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sanctioned matches in the third season, giving the competition formal recognition and ensuring that player performances carry official statistical significance.

The recognition represents another development for the NPL as it establishes itself within the wider franchise cricket landscape.

FanCode backs growth of Nepal cricket

The streaming partnership comes amid growing interest in Nepalese cricket, supported by a passionate domestic fan base, emerging players and the national team’s progress in international competitions.

A FanCode Spokesperson said in a statement: “Nepal has witnessed growing interest in cricket, supported by a passionate fan base, the emergence of local talent and the national team’s progress in international competitions. The NPL plays an important role in this journey by bringing together domestic and international players in a competitive franchise format. We are delighted to support the League and take it to millions of cricket fans across India through our exclusive partnership.”

The acquisition further diversifies FanCode’s international cricket portfolio.
