Cricket West Indies (CWI) appears set to reject a proposal from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to modify the format of their upcoming white-ball series, sticking instead with the originally scheduled three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals.
According to reports, the PCB had requested that the ODI leg of the tour be converted into additional T20Is to better prepare for the 2025 Asia Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup, both of which are T20 format competitions. Despite ongoing discussions, CWI is reportedly unmoved by the request and plans to proceed with the tour itinerary as announced earlier.
The series will kick off with three T20Is at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida on July 31, August 2, and August 3. The action then shifts to Trinidad for the ODI leg, with matches set for August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
This firm stance by CWI comes as ticket sales for the T20I matches have opened, including promotional deals such as a 2-for-1 offer and discounts of up to 50% on single ticket prices. ODI ticket prices start at $8 and go up to $175 for premium seating, as efforts ramp up to draw fans in the United States.
The tour follows Pakistan’s three-match T20I series in Bangladesh, scheduled from July 20 to 24 in Dhaka. Pakistan will arrive in Bangladesh on July 16 before heading to the United States for the West Indies series. All T20Is in Bangladesh will begin at 5 PM PST.
Pakistan is expected to announce its squad for both tours simultaneously, aiming for streamlined preparations across both series. With both sides in a transitional phase and focusing on building white-ball momentum, the full six-match series provides a valuable platform to test strategies and combinations ahead of key ICC events.
An official confirmation from CWI on the final format is expected soon, but as of now, the series will proceed under its original configuration.
