Drizzle and bad light denied any activity as the third day of the second ICC World Test Championship fixture between England and Pakistan at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton, was called-off without a ball bowled.

This means, Mohammad Rizwan, who batted on 60 when bad light forced early stumps on Friday, and Naseem Shah will resume Pakistan’s innings on Sunday, the fourth day of the Test.

Players have remained indoors for the majority of the match as only 86 overs have been bowled in which Pakistan have made 223 for nine.

England lead the three-Test series following their three-wicket win at Old Trafford, Manchester. The final Test, also to be hosted by the Ageas Bowl, commences on Friday, 21 August.

Scores in brief:

Pakistan 223-9, 86 overs (Mohammad Rizwan 60 not out, Abid Ali 60, Babar Azam 47, Azhar Ali 20; James Anderson 3-48, Stuart Broad 3-56)
