“I am really pleased to be joining the Renegades for the next 3 years,” Maddinson said.

“I have really enjoyed my time playing BBL in Melbourne and I’m excited that I can continue that journey wearing red. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to contribute on the field and help push the team towards BBL finals. I’m also looking forward to supporting some of the younger guys around the squad as they continue to develop,” Maddinson said.

25 year-old Ferling said she was excited to make the switch to the Renegades.

“I’d like to thank the Renegades for giving me this opportunity to continue my WBBL career in Melbourne. It will definitely feel a bit strange running out when we come up against the Stars for the first time,” Ferling said.

“Under the leadership of Sophie Molineux, the squad has an exciting mix youngsters and senior players. I know the Renegades are keen to put themselves in finals contention again and hopefully be the first of the Melbourne teams to lift the WBBL trophy. At a personal level I’m looking forward to working with our coach Simon Helmot and making a positive impact in red.”
