The WHITE FERNS have arrived at their first training base in Derby after flying from Auckland to London via Singapore.

The players and support staff were transferred from London Heathrow airport to their hotel in Derby where they will be based for the first two weeks of the tour.

While COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted in the UK, the WHITE FERNS players and staff will still be adhering to strict health protocols, including pre-departure vaccinations and COVID-19 tests, as well as day one and day three COVID-19 tests upon arrival.

All players and staff were required to complete a 24-hour isolation period in their rooms following the first arrival COVID-19 tests which were all returned negative.

While in England, the WHITE FERNS will operate in a ‘controlled team environment’ assisted by support from the ECB, to limit outside contact and risk of transmission. Players will complete daily self-reported health assessments and will only be able to leave the team hotel for training sessions and matches.

A 50-over intra-squad warm-up match is planned on Monday August 23. The tour officially gets underway with the first of three T20 internationals against England on Wednesday September 1 at the CouldFM County Ground in Chelmsford.
