USA Cricket is pleased to announce that it is in advanced discussions with Masters Cricket USA (‘MCUSA’) aimed at concluding a mutually beneficial partnership between the two entities that will see MCUSA officially recognized and endorsed as the body responsible for developing opportunities for senior cricketers to play domestic matches within the USA and to select teams to represent USA in international Masters competitions.

Director of Masters Cricket USA, Parak Ananta, explained, “Masters Cricket USA was established in 2020 with the focus of fostering and promoting the enjoyment of playing cricket at all ages, and supporting the social interaction that is a big part of cricket’s traditions. To that end, it provides opportunities for players over the age of fifty to continue playing domestic and international cricket matches.  We have seen how successful this can be done in other countries around the world over the past few years and hope to be able to replicate a similar model here in the USA, which will allow cricketers to continue to develop their affinity for the sport even into their senior years.  We are delighted that USA Cricket is supportive of what we are trying to do and we look forward to concluding a formal agreement with USA Cricket shortly.”

USA Cricket’s Chief Executive, Iain Higgins, explained, “Over the past few weeks we have been working with MCUSA to develop a partnership that will help to achieve USA Cricket’s strategic objectives of increasing the number of participants in the sport and enhancing the levels of engagement that exist with the sport in the country. There are many cricket fans and players across the country, and it is important that the sport continues to offer them opportunities to remain actively involved for as long as possible, and we have been impressed with the efforts that have been made by MCUSA since its incorporation in 2020, and look forward to having them formally become a member of USA Cricket and to work with them to achieve our respective goals.  Through the proposed partnership, we hope to create a model that supports and encourages those activities, both domestically and on the international stage, and we wish the USA team the very best of luck in the upcoming Three Nations Masters Tournament.”

MCUSA is scheduled to play in a Three Nation Tournament in Toronto, Canada this coming week, against Masters teams from West Indies and Canada.  The tournament will take place at the Danville Grounds in Mississauga, and all matches will be live streamed on the Masters Cricket USA YouTube Channel here.
