Adelaide Strikers WBBL squad continues to grow stronger ahead of Weber WBBL|07, strengthened by the addition of allrounder Jemma Barsby.

An allrounder in every sense of the word, the middle-order batter is also ambidextrous in her bowling, impressively possessing the ability to bowl both left and right-handed.

Barsby has crossed the Nullarbor for the summer, joining the Strikers from the Perth Scorchers to complete a transition to South Australia that began when the 25-year-old joined the SA Scorpions last season.

The left-hander has notched up 385 runs to go with 58 wickets across her 85 matches, enjoying a career-best season in WBBL|02, picking up a WBBL Young Gun Award nomination for her efforts.

The Queensland native was an inaugural member of the Brisbane Heat squad, claiming the ultimate prize, a WBBL trophy in her fourth season in teal.

No stranger to the big stage, Barsby has been a feature in three finals campaigns across her six seasons in the WBBL, most notably collecting 3/23 in the Heat’s semi-final do-or-die clash with the Sydney Thunder in their championship season.

The 25-year-old is ready to embrace her new opportunity, settling into the southern state full-time.

“I am so excited to join the Strikers this year and I can’t wait to get started. We have a great group of ladies that create an all-round, consistent group and I am excited to see how we go against the star-studded sides in the WBBL. Bring it on!”

Adelaide Strikers Head Coach, Luke Williams is delighted to see Barbsy pull on the Strikers blue.

“Jemma has impressed everyone in Adelaide since crossing to join the Scorpions last season and so we are delighted to sign her as a Striker. She gives us plenty of options with both bat and ball and in doing so adds experience, strength and depth to our squad.”
