Cricket Hong Kong are pleased to announce that Instarem – one of the region’s leading cross border payments businesses – has signed on as lead sponsor of the CHK Sunday Elite League!

Founded in Singapore in 2014, Instarem now has licenses in Australia, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, UK, US, EU and Canada. Whether you’re a consumer, a small or medium-sized enterprise or a financial institution, Instarem simplifies the way you spend, send and receive money worldwide.

“We are proud to be the Lead Sponsor for the CHK Sunday Elite League. At Instarem, we pride ourselves in making money simple by enabling transfers across borders quickly and affordably. Since January this year, we have seen a 30X spike in the number of transfers being made from Hong Kong. We are thrilled to see this response to our product and are looking to support the community in return” – Ivy Lun, VP & Country Head, Hong Kong at Instarem.

Ravi Nagdev, Cricket Hong Kong’s General Manager (Domestic and Development) said, “We are pleased to have Instarem join us to grow the game in Hong Kong and around the region. Interest in Cricket has never been as high and as our participation numbers are increasing, more and more are keenly following the domestic game in Hong Kong.”

The CHK Sunday Elite was first established in 1973-74, and currently features 12 teams playing two rounds of 50-over cricket across two divisions, with a T20 cup at the end of the season. It is the 2nd highest level of club cricket in Hong Kong, behind the Premier League, and features the best talent the region has to offer playing every Sunday at TKRRG, HKCC, KCC or PKVR Park.

Division 1 of the 2021-22 Sunday Elite League season got underway yesterday, with all 6 teams in action! The defending champions KCC Templars began their season at home scoring a big win against the newly promoted USRC Elite, while last seasons runners-up HKCC Scorpions played host to DLSW JKN and scored a 5 wicket win. PACC Elite played HKCC Wanderers at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground to round off the first week of Division 1 fixtures with a four wicket loss, and the CHK Dragons took on KMF Vagabonds at PKVR Park in Division 2.

An added dynamic to this season’s Sunday Elite League is the introduction of Finals in both Divisions, with the Division 1 Final determining this year’s Champion, while the Division 2 Final decides which team gets promoted the following season! Both these games will be live streamed on the CHK social media platforms – a first for the Sunday Elite League!”
