Boxing, horse racing, football, athletics, cricket…it has been a great year for Irish sport on the whole, but women’s sport in particular.
“In respect to my own chosen sport, it may be an individual award, but cricket is very much a team sport. We have a great Our recent successful tour to Pakistan, qualification for next year’s T20 World Cup and the growth of profile and participation across the grassroots of our sport has demonstrated Irish cricket’s potential – where attention and investment in the women’s game has gone, positive outcomes have followed.
“Congratulations to all the monthly winners this year, and thanks to The Irish Times for your ongoing support for women’s sport.”
