2023 KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar: 02 – 05 July

The Cricket South Africa (CSA) KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar recently concluded in Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast.

The national seminar serves as a platform for mini-cricket volunteer coaches and officials from various regions across the country to engage in interactive sessions, share their knowledge, experiences, and fun team building activities.

Throughout the seminar, the interactive sessions sparked lively conversations, while the workshops delved into crucial aspects of coaching, safeguarding, and promoting the values of cricket. The coaches also gained insights and essential skills to enhance their coaching abilities and positively impact the young cricketing talent in South Africa.

The strategic discussions held during the event focused on expanding the program’s reach with project 2063, ensuring inclusivity to level the playing field, and strengthening the foundation of talent from the grassroots level to reach greatness.

CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, reflected on the success of the KFC Mini Cricket National Seminar;

“The Mini-Cricket programme stands as a testament to CSA’s dedication to developing young cricketing talent and fostering a love for the sport among children.

“Yearly, the national seminar sets a new benchmark for knowledge sharing, motivation, and strategic planning within the mini-cricket community and reinforces CSA’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and the development of the next generation of cricketing talent.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the coaches for their active involvement and invaluable contributions. Their dedication and commitment to the KFC Mini-Cricket program is commendable” said Moseki.

“Our sincere appreciation to KFC for their unwavering support and their commitment to fostering the growth of cricket in South Africa. Together, we will continue to build on the success of this program and create a bright future for cricket in our nation,” Moseki concluded.

“KFC has a bold ambition to be the most inclusive QSR brand in Africa. Our sponsorship of the KFC Mini-Cricket programme is not just a sponsorship but a way to instil in the KFC mini-cricket kids, our volunteer coaches and administration team that anything is possible. The annual KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar is a great platform to remind all stakeholders involved in the programme that regardless of any societal barriers that may exist, we can unlock equal opportunities and level the playing fields for all children. As the new season starts, we look forward to bucket loads of fun, learning and the continued impact in our communities,” said Andra Ferreira Nel, KFC Marketing Manager, Brand and Purpose.
