A packed schedule of Australian domestic cricket will again provide some of the game’s emerging stars the opportunity to showcase their ability while engaging in intense and historic interstate rivalries.
Australian domestic cricket is renowned for providing elite competition that produces world-class players across all formats with the likes of Todd Murphy and Phoebe Litchfield graduating to national honours in recent times.
The Marsh Sheffield Shield, Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) and Marsh One-Day Cup schedules will provide access to top-class domestic cricket for fans across the country.
Additional tour matches have also been announced for the summer with the Prime Minister’s XI and Governor-General’s XI matches scheduled for December and January respectively.
Highlights include:
• Thirteen Marsh One-Day Cup games, including the final, to be shown live and exclusive on Fox Cricket, available on Foxtel, as well as the final of the Marsh Sheffield Shield and WNCL. All games to be live streamed on Kayo Sports and cricket.com.au.
• Tasmania to begin their pursuit of a WNCL threepeat against ACT after last season’s dramatic final against South Australia.
• Western Australia will begin their Marsh Sheffield Shield and Marsh One-Day Cup title defences against Victoria (October 4-7) and Queensland (September 24) respectively.
• Six rounds of Marsh Sheffield Shield games before the first NRMA Insurance Men’s Test Match against Pakistan.
• A domestic cricket match is set to be played at Sydney’s Cricket Central for the first time on September 22 when New South Wales takes on Queensland in the WNCL. This will be followed by NSW women’s team hosting the touring West Indies on September 28.
• A Marsh One-Day Cup clash between old rivals Victoria and NSW at the CitiPower Centre on the AFL Grand Final public holiday (September 29).
• Back-to-back white ball finals on the one weekend – WNCL Final on February 24 and Marsh One-Day Cup Final on February 25.
• Another chance for young and established stars to push their national claims when the Prime Minister’s XI hosts Pakistan at Manuka Oval, December 6-9.
• The Governor General’s XI to host South Africa at North Sydney Oval, January 24.
• CA XI will take on the West Indies at Karen Rolton Oval on January 10-13.
