“X’ will mark the Big Bash spot for the Brisbane Heat with pace bowler Xavier Bartlett signing a new deal for the next two KFC Big Bash League seasons.

The 24-year-old is the latest player from last season’s runners-up squad to put pen to paper as Brisbane continue to build towards the KFC BBL|13 season.

Since making his BBL debut in December 2020 after originally signing on as a teenager, Bartlett has developed rapidly into a versatile and multi-talented performer for the Heat.

He was Player of the Match in the sudden death Knock-Out Final against the Melbourne Renegades at Marvel Stadium, with his 3-18 from four overs helping fifth-placed Brisbane to stay alive in the cut-throat Finals race to the BBL decider.

Recently returned from a winter stint playing League cricket in the United Kingdom, Bartlett has joined the Queensland Bulls squad for their pre-season preparation.

The Heat will now gear up for September’s International Player Draft after receiving seventh pick in the recent BBL draft lottery.

The Heat’s BBL|13 fixtures are highlighted by five primetime games at the Gabba during the festive season holidays.

The Heat will host the Opening Night fixture against the Melbourne Stars on December 7 and the New Year’s Bash on January 1 against the Sydney Sixers as two marquee matches.

Brisbane Heat Memberships are currently available via brisbaneheat.com.au/membership, with the club breaking its daily membership sales record on the opening day earlier this month.

Current BBL|13 Squad:Usman Khawaja (captain), Xavier Bartlett, Max Bryant, Spencer Johnson, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Neser, Jimmy Peirson, Will Prestwidge, Matthew Renshaw, Mark Steketee.
