The much anticipated Lanka Premier League 2023 (LPL 2023) is just around the corner, and to kick off the exhilarating countdown to the 4th season, the organizers hosted a thrilling and one-of-a-kind event – the ‘Mini Cooper Rally.’

The heart of Colombo came alive as over 40 Classic Mini Coopers and Mokes gracefully cruised through the streets, creating a captivating spectacle that captured the attention of onlookers and cricket enthusiasts alike. Aptly named “Cruising Colombo: Lanka Premier League Season 4: Mini Cooper Rally,” the event marked the first-ever activation dedicated to LPL’s upcoming edition.

With the pretense of Mr. Samantha Dodanwela, the Tournament Director of Lanka Premier League 2023, the rally began its journey from the SLC headquarters. The convoy of classic cars then traced a scenic route, passing through Independence Square, Thunmulla, Galle Road, Bank of Ceylon Mawatha, and Colombo 01, before proceeding to Technical Junction and Colombo 10, culminating at RPICS, Colombo – the venue for the grand opening game of LPL 2023, scheduled on July 30, 2023.

The event received an extra touch of glamour and expertise with the presence of veteran motor racing champion, Mr. Dilantha Malagamuwa, and Mr. Namal Silva, President of the Mighty Mini Club of Sri Lanka, who collaborated with Lanka Premier League 2023 to make this extraordinary rally possible.

As a token of appreciation for their participation, the rally’s spirited drivers were presented with complimentary tickets to witness the exciting action of Lanka Premier League 2023, promising an enthralling display of cricketing talent and fierce competition.

The Mini Cooper Rally has undoubtedly set the stage for an unforgettable LPL 2023, capturing the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and adventure. With just a week left until the grand opening, cricket fans from across the globe eagerly await the thrill and passion that Lanka Premier League 2023 promises to deliver.
