Paris Bowdler “can’t wait to be a part of what’s building” at Sydney Thunder as she is announced as the latest signing for the squad’s Weber WBBL|09 campaign.

Bowdler had a whirlwind 2022/23 season after receiving her first professional cricket call up halfway through the WBBL last year with Melbourne Renegades.

The wicketkeeper-batter started her 2022 with a Premier side in Geelong. After many impressive performances with both the bat and gloves, the rising star known as ‘Paz’ caught the eye of the Renegades following an injury to their regular wicketkeeper Josie Dooley.

Bowdler then went on to represent Australia at the ICC Under19 World Cup in South Africa and worked hard throughout the winter to earn her first full-time professional contract with the ACT Meteors in the Women’s National Cricket League.

Primed and ready for action, Bowdler shared her opening thoughts about joining the refreshed Thunder squad as they begin a new era for the club squad:

“I’m beyond excited to be joining the Thunder squad this year! The energy and the values of the club really set the tone for what I want my cricket to be about. I can’t wait to be a part of what’s building here.”

Sydney Thunder have already welcomed new head coach Lisa Keightley, announced they will play four matches at a new home in their heartland of Sydney’s West – Cricket Central, and secured the signatures of superstar internationals Marizanne Kapp, Heather Knight and Lauren Bell through the WBBL Overseas Player Draft.

The club will play their opening match of the season against cross-town rival Sydney Sixers at North Sydney Oval on Sunday October 22. Grab your tickets HERE!
