The WBBL Brisbane Heat will head west tonight as they chase their finals dreams in the Weber Women’s Big Bash League.

Brisbane finished third, behind Perth, with the Sydney Thunder remaining in fourth place after their loss in today’s final regular season match against cross-town rivals the Sydney Sixers at the SCG.

The Heat finished on the same points as the Scorchers but Perth qualified higher and earned hosting rights due to a superior net run-rate.

The WACA will host Tuesday’s Eliminator between the Heat and the Thunder, with the winner going through to meet the Scorchers on Wednesday for the right to match-up with the Adelaide Strikers in Adelaide on Saturday.

The Strikers today tied the record for the most wins in a WBBL regular season after accounting for the Hobart Hurricanes earlier at the SCG to finish with 11 victories.

The Heat, which qualified for the Finals for the sixth time in a row when they defeated the Sydney Thunder in Adelaide on Friday, will fly to Perth tonight to prepare for Tuesday’s WACA encounter

Brisbane will finalise its squad tomorrow. Media opportunities between now and the Eliminator will be advised in due course.
