The Role

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Marketing & Communications Specialist to play a vital role in executing compelling marketing and communications content across various Cricket Victoria channels to support the growth of Victorian cricket. This position will operate within a shared service team, harnessing the opportunity to collaborate with multiple departments, ensuring cohesive messaging and brand consistency for not only Cricket Victoria, but the Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars also.

Key Responsibilities include:

  •  Content Creation: Develop engaging content for various platforms including social media, websites, newsletters, printed materials and internal communications. Tailor messaging to target audiences while maintaining brand voice and identity.
  •  Campaign Management: Support the planning, execution, and analysis of marketing campaigns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure campaigns align with business objectives and resonate with the intended audience.
  •  Commercial Outcomes: Work collaboratively with Consumer Business to produce Marketing campaigns for CV Commercial programs (e.g. School Holiday Programs) or to support CV Partners & Sponsors.
  •  Brand Management: Uphold brand standards and guidelines across all communication channels. Monitor brand perception and implement strategies to enhance brand reputation.
  •  Media Relations: Support the Victorian Teams Media Manager in drafting press releases and other external communications to secure coverage and maintain positive media relations.
  •  Analytics and Reporting: In collaboration with the Performance Marketing Specialist, review analytics tools to track and measure the performance of marketing initiatives.
  •  Internal Communications: Facilitate internal communication efforts to keep employees informed and engaged. Develop internal newsletters, announcements, and presentations to foster a sense of community and alignment with company objectives.
  •  Collaboration and Support: Work closely with colleagues across all Cricket Victoria departments and Cricket Australia to support their marketing and communication needs. Provide guidance on messaging, design, and best practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

About You

You’ll demonstrate a genuine passion for customer engagement and be able to work collaboratively across multiple departments to achieve the best outcome for Victorian cricket. You’ll be digitally savvy with a wiliness to learn new skills to be at the forefront of new marketing and advertising methods and trends. You’ll have well developed verbal and written communication that will assist your negotiation skills and see you consistently demonstrate an eagerness to present innovative ideas.

To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:

  •  Tertiary degree in marketing, communication or related field
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the fields of marketing or PR, preferably within a sport or entertainment environment
  • Proven experience supporting the growth of brands and profile through successful PR and tactical marketing campaigns
  • Ability to assist with the running of successful events/promotions that meet customer expectations
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including but not limited to after hours and weekends during the cricket season
  • Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or arranged upon appointment)
  • Current Victoria Driver’s License
