National coach Ryan Campbell has added Ian Salsbury of Sussex CCC as a specialist coach to his coaching staff for the T20 World Cup.
The tournament will be played between October 17 and November 14 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman. The Netherlands plays in group A, with Sri Lanka, Ireland and Namibia. The first games for the Orange men are scheduled on October 18, 20 and 22.
Ryan Campbell, national coach KNCB: “As the national coach of the Dutch team, I have always tried to surround the players with people with knowledge and experience. Ian Salisbury is one of these people and an excellent coach. His knowledge of spin bowling will be a huge help in the UAE. Together with Chris Liddle (fast bowling coach), James Hilditch (senior assistant) and Evan Speechly (physio), they make up our coaching staff.”
Ian Salisbury, specialist coach: “This is a very good squad, including some very talented spinners. They are brilliantly led by Pieter Seelar and Ryan Campbell and it is an honor to be invited to be part of the coaching team. The team has the chance to add a new chapter to Dutch sports history.
For me as a coach, this is a good experience to further develop myself. I have learned a lot from working with the English women at World Championships and I am sure that this tournament will be another valuable experience.”
