With a first prize of PGK 10,000, the richest prize ever offered for a domestic event run by Cricket PNG, we were oversubscribed with entries. Pool One has the KCC Capitals, United Super Kings, Raukele Royal Challengers, Pari Knight Riders. Pool Two has the Curries Indians, Coasters Kings, Coasters Lions Royals, Northern Sunrisers. Across these teams there are 17 current Kumul Petroleum PNG Barramundis, and 10 of the Under 19 Squad training for selection for the World Cup, along with many former Barras turning back the clock and other up and coming players wanting to make a name for themselves.
All matches played on Amini Park will be live streamed via InteractSport’s “FrogBox” streaming service. This is a great opportunity to showcase this exciting format with premier players to PNG and the World as we continue to have to hold matches without spectators due to the spread of Covid in the community.

To add another dimension to this competition, at the conclusion we will be naming a tournament Hanuabada XI and a Rest of the World XI that will compete in a T20 match the following weekend to close out our season before Christmas. We will have Barras legends John Ovia and Jack Vare coaching these sides, in what promises to be a hard-fought match.
