Cricket Scotland: Chance to shine street cricket club opens in Dundee

Cricket Scotland, in partnership with Chance to Shine, is delighted to announce the opening of a new Street Cricket Club in Dundee, commencing on Thursday 20 March.

The programme, which will be based at Craigie High School, is the first new club in Scotland since the launch of Cricket Scotland’s new strategy in August 2024. The governing body has committed to establishing a Street Cricket Club in each major city in Scotland within the next four years.

The new club in Dundee joins our existing clubs in Aberdeen (Aberdeen Lads Club) and Edinburgh (Wester Hailes High School).

What is a Street Club?

A Street Club is a free community cricket session open to everyone aged 8-14 years, providing a safe and inclusive space for young people to try cricket.

The primary objective is to promote social, mental, and physical well-being through sport while encouraging a sense of belonging.

These clubs run weekly throughout the year and are completely free to attend, usually within walking distance to participants.

More than just a cricket session, a Street Club is a welcoming environment where participants can connect, grow, and develop confidence in a space they can call their own.
