Sydney Thunder thanks Naomi Stalenberg

Top-order batter set to join the Hobart Hurricanes for WBBL|06

Sydney Thunder has thanked Naomi Stalenberg for her great contribution to the Thunder Nation following the announcement of her move to the Hobart Hurricanes today ahead of the upcoming Rebel Women’s Big Bash League.

Stalenberg was part of the inaugural Thunder squad that won the WBBL|01 title and played 68 games for the club, scoring 929 runs at an average of 17.20.

Head Coach Trevor Griffin wished Stalenberg well for the future.

“I want to thank Naomi for everything she has given the Thunder Nation over the last five seasons,” said Griffin.

“Naomi has served the Thunder Nation well for a long time and I know our fans will certainly miss seeing her in green.

“On behalf of the club, I’d like to wish Naomi all the best as she continues her career in Tasmania.”

The full 59-match WBBL season begins on Sunday 25 October, with Thunder taking on crosstown rivals the Sydney Sixers at North Sydney Oval on the opening day of the tournament.
