Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) has expanded its cricket broadcasting business with Canadian television rights to the National Cricket League GT20 (NCL GT20) and an international series between India and New Zealand.

ATN President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shan Chandrasekar said in the company’s announcement: “We are delighted to bring a lot more exciting Live Cricket to the Canadian audiences.”

Canadian viewers gain access to two cricket competitions

ATN will broadcast all 18 NCL GT20 matches live across ATN Cricket Plus, CBN and ATN Sports.

The professional T20 competition brings together established international players, former cricket stars and emerging talent.

ATN has also secured coverage of the India–New Zealand series from October 22 to November 30, featuring five T20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals and two Test matches.

NCL GT20 shifts to the Caribbean

The 2026 edition of NCL GT20 will take place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from October 23 to November 1.

Its staging involves a partnership between NCL GT20 Canada, Cricket West Indies (CWI) and Cricket Canada.

CWI Chief Executive Officer Chris Dehring said: “NCL GT20 Canada, together with the deep cricketing tradition of the West Indies, creates an exciting opportunity for collaboration. Hosting the 2026 tournament in the Caribbean before its return to Canada next year marks the beginning of a partnership that can facilitate the continued development of Canadian cricket while showcasing our region as one of the great cricketing regions of world cricket. As the only full member of the ICC in the hemisphere, we believe it is important to forge mutually beneficial relationships with ICC Associate Members across the region, for the health of the game and, indeed, for the continued development of West Indies cricket.”

ATN builds on its cricket broadcasting history

ATN has been involved in cricket television since 1987, when it broadcast the ICC Cricket World Cup live across Canada. Its subsequent programming has included international Test matches, ODIs, T20 cricket and franchise competitions.

The broadcaster operates more than 50 specialty television channels, including three sports channels, with distribution through providers such as Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Cogeco and Videotron.

Chandrasekar added: “Cricket continues to be one of the most important sports for Canada’s Commonwealth Communities, and ATN is committed to bringing our viewers the best cricket from around the world. NCLGT20 provides an exciting new platform featuring some of the most recognizable names in the game, and we look forward to making this tournament available to cricket fans throughout Canada.”

League looks towards cricket’s Olympic future

NCL GT20 Chief Global Communications Officer Malini Basu said: “This league was built for Canada, and with cricket headed to the 2028 Olympics, Canadian fans deserve a front-row seat to the players who will shape the sport’s next chapter. We’re excited to work with ATN to bring NCL GT20 to cricket fans across Canada”

Following its Caribbean-hosted edition, NCL GT20 is scheduled to return to Canada in 2027.
