Cricket Canada wishes to provide our community — players, members, partners, and the broader Canadian public — with a comprehensive update on the actions we are taking to address serious matters facing this organization, and the steps we are taking to build a stronger future for Canadian cricket.

As previously stated (Cricket Canada Statement on Recent Media Coverage), any conclusions arising from recent media coverage would be based on verified facts, proper process, and fairness to all involved. That remains our position, and we do not dismiss or minimize what has been reported. The appropriate authorities — including the ICC and its Anti-Corruption Unit — will conduct any necessary investigations, and Cricket Canada will cooperate fully and respect any outcomes.
Cricket Canada’s governance reform process was initiated in fall 2025, driven by recognition within the organization and among its provincial members that Cricket Canada needed to meet the highest standards of governance. The clearest expression of that commitment was the Special General Meeting held on April 9, 2026. Facilitated by an independent, court-appointed chair, the SGM was a fully democratic exercise of member rights.
Cricket Canada’s new leadership is pursuing an agenda organized around three strategic priorities. Over the next few months, Cricket Canada will systematically begin announcing specific initiatives being implemented across each priority.
Player Development and Professional Cricket
Canadian cricketers deserve access to the best competitive opportunities the sport has to offer. Cricket Canada is committed to expanding professional cricket formats in this country and building meaningful competitive pathways for players at every level of the game. Our goal is to ensure that talent developed in Canada has the platform it deserves, and that the experience of playing cricket here reflects the global stature the sport is rapidly achieving.
National Infrastructure Investment
Cricket Canada is pursuing a program of infrastructure development spanning venues, facilities, and grassroots resources from coast to coast. Canadian cricket has an enormous and growing participation base, and building the physical and organizational infrastructure to support that base is a foundational priority. These investments are intended to serve the sport not just for the next season, but for the next generation of Canadian cricketers.
Governance Reform
Cricket Canada — through a member-led process — is implementing a comprehensive governance reset. This includes a formal review of member voting rights and board representation structures, full alignment with Sport Canada and Safe Sport requirements, and a sustained commitment to open, transparent communication with every member, partner, and stakeholder connected to this sport. Our aim is a governance structure that functions with integrity by design — one that earns and maintains trust on an ongoing basis.
