EDINBURGH — June 2025: Cricket Scotland has officially launched its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan, a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to creating a more inclusive, respectful, and equitable environment across all levels of Scottish cricket.

The EDI Action Plan aims to foster a cricketing culture in Scotland where everyone—regardless of background—feels welcome and valued, and is given the opportunity to thrive. The initiative builds on the foundations laid by Cricket Scotland’s earlier EDI Strategy and Anti-Racism Delivery Plan.

Driving systemic change in Scottish cricket

The new Action Plan outlines specific, measurable actions designed to promote sustainable change. It will be updated regularly to remain responsive to the evolving needs of the cricketing community and global best practices in EDI.

Key focus areas include:

  • Increasing representation at all levels of the game
  • Eliminating discrimination and unconscious bias
  • Promoting inclusive leadership and governance
  • Creating welcoming, accessible environments
  • Delivering EDI education and training across the cricket community

Leadership committed to lasting impact

Krishna Kaur, Head of EDI at Cricket Scotland, emphasized the plan’s transformative vision:

“This EDI Action Plan is our roadmap to building a culture where Scottish cricket is united by diversity and driven by inclusion. It’s designed not just for Cricket Scotland, but for everyone in our game to take part in ensuring cricket truly is for all.”

The Action Plan includes the launch of bespoke EDI e-learning modules developed by lived-experience experts, ensuring that education efforts are both meaningful and actionable. These modules will be accessible to administrators and all members of the cricket community.

Cricket Scotland views the Action Plan as a living document—central to trust-building and long-term change within the sport. It reflects a whole-of-organisation approach to embedding inclusion across every department and stakeholder group.
