With less than 100 days to go until the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup kicks off in Australia, Movember and the T20 World Cup are teaming up to promote life-saving mental health and suicide prevention programs on the global stage.

Named as the event’s local charity partner, Movember has a proud history with the cricket community, which has helped revolutionised the way we talk about men’s health for more than 15 years through its relationship with cricket.

Activating at matches across the event – which spans 45 games across seven host cities between 16 October and 13 November – the partnership aims to harness the power of the T20 World Cup to drive conversations and education around mental health and wellbeing.

Almost one in two Aussies experience mental ill-health at some point in their life, so there has never been a better time to start these conversations and open real dialogue about mental health.

On hand to help launch the partnership, Australia Captain Aaron Finch was joined by ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Local Organising Committee CEO, Michelle Enright and Movember APAC Country Director Rachel Carr, while a giant replica of the T20 trophy sported a ‘Big Time’ moustache.

Rachel Carr, APAC Country Director at Movember, said: “Movember has a long and proud history with the cricketing community. It’s a game that’s not only woven into the fabric of our culture, but one that also brings people together, and we want to use that incredible power of connection to shine a light on mental health.

We’re thrilled to partner with a powerhouse event like the T20 World Cup to bring mental health conversations to the global stage. To welcome more Mo supporters into our hairy community so that we can continue to fund innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes with their support. Programmes that will stop our fathers, brothers and mates dying too young, and allow us to change the face of men’s health on a global scale.
