The BCCI has announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming 2025 India vs West Indies Test series, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel retaining their spots in the red-ball format following strong recent performances.

The two-match Test series begins on October 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the second Test scheduled for October 10 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Both Tests begin at 9:30 AM IST.

Jaiswal headlines India squad after dominant year

Yashasvi Jaiswal, 23, continues to cement his place at the top of the order. He was the top scorer for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, racking up 559 runs in 14 matches. In red-ball cricket, Jaiswal has emerged as a dependable Test batter, scoring two centuries in the recent five-Test home series against England — including a match-winning ton in the final Test at The Oval.

Jaiswal, who scored a century on debut against the West Indies in 2023, now boasts 2,209 runs in 24 Tests at an average of over 50, with six centuries and 12 fifties to his name.

Dhruv Jurel retains wicketkeeper role after strong India A, IPL stints

Dhruv Jurel, 24, has impressed selectors with his consistent form in both domestic and international formats. The wicketkeeper-batter has played five Tests for India and recently led India A in a series against Australia A, where he scored a century in a multi-day match.

Earlier this year, he also delivered with the bat during the India A tour of England, scoring 227 runs at an average of 75.66 with three fifties in four innings. In the IPL 2025, Jurel was Rajasthan Royals’ third-highest run-scorer with 333 runs at a strike rate of 156.33.
