Nandni Sharma earns maiden call-up as India prepare for England series ahead of June 12 tournament opener

Team India have announced their squad for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup that will commence on June 12. The team will be led by the Women’s ODI World Cup winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy.

Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia will don the wicket keeper gloves. Nandni Sharma has also received her maiden call up to the squad. 

The Women in Blue will open their campaign against Pakistan Women on June 14 in the marquee tournament at Birmingham.

As a preparation for the World Cup, the Harmanpreet Kaur led Indian side will take on England in a three-match T20I series that will commence on May 28. The same squad will play against England.
