Innovation and immersion headline cricket’s biggest season yet

Kayo Sports has launched its most ambitious summer of cricket coverage yet, blending top-tier international matchups with cutting-edge broadcast technology. At the Parramatta Town Hall launch event, cricket legends and network executives came together to unveil a viewing experience that promises to be immersive, data-rich, and fan-first.

More than 3000 hours of live coverage will be delivered across Kayo Sports and Fox Cricket, including every ball of India’s tour of Australia, the Big Bash League (BBL), the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), and the return of The Ashes — all streamed live and ad-break free during play.

The summer kicks off with India’s three-match ODI series starting October 19, followed by a five-match T20I series from October 29. England’s Ashes campaign begins November 21 in Perth, with Fox Cricket broadcasting every Test live in 4K.

Gilchrist and Crawley underline scale of the season

Australian cricket great Adam Gilchrist emphasised the weight of this year’s schedule, pointing to both the historic significance and the level of opposition that lies ahead.

“There’s something truly special about an Ashes summer in Australia — the history, the rivalry, the passion from fans across the country is unrivalled. Add in India’s tour and it’s undoubtedly one of the biggest summers in terms of opposition that we’ve ever had.”

Fox Sports Managing Director Steve Crawley reinforced that message, calling the upcoming summer a milestone in Australian cricket broadcasting.

“This isn’t just another summer of cricket, this is the summer of cricket. You’ve got the top two white ball nations in the world going head-to-head, followed by one of the greatest rivalries in world sport with The Ashes. It simply doesn’t get any bigger, and the Fox Cricket commentary team is ready to deliver it all.”

Tech innovations aim to elevate viewer engagement

Kayo Sports’ coverage will feature two new tools that aim to transform how fans experience live cricket.

Fox Focus, debuting during the ODI series against India and continuing through The Ashes, is a next-generation telestrator. It provides real-time player and field-tracking analysis, allowing commentators to overlay graphics, measurements, and strategy highlights directly onto the broadcast.

Fox Playbook is another innovation, using predictive analytics to forecast player matchups and ball-by-ball strategies in white-ball cricket. It will be deployed throughout the India white-ball series, every BBL game, and Fox Cricket’s exclusive WBBL matches.

The broadcast presentation will also include updated on-air graphics and a deeper level of analysis, aimed at enhancing fan understanding and engagement across all formats.

Familiar voices return, with a touch of humour

Fox Cricket’s star-studded commentary team returns for the season, including Adam Gilchrist, David Warner, Brett Lee, Mark Waugh, Isa Guha, Michael Vaughan, Alyssa Healy, and Allan Border among others. They will be joined by Australian players Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Usman Khawaja, and WBBL standout Hannah Darlington at various points throughout the season.

Adding a lighter edge to the coverage, Kayo has once again partnered with The Grade Cricketer podcast hosts Sam Perry and Ian Higgins. The duo will bring their trademark humour and alternate commentary style to select matches, while also featuring in social content, podcast integrations, and on-ground activations throughout the summer.

As anticipation builds across the country, Kayo Sports and Fox Cricket are positioning themselves not just to broadcast the game, but to redefine how Australian fans experience it — live, immersive, and unmissable.
