Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its maiden T20I tri-series, featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, set to take place from 17 to 29 November 2025. The series will serve as crucial preparation for all three teams ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Tri-series fixtures across Rawalpindi and Lahore
The tournament will begin with Pakistan vs Afghanistan on 17 November at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This match marks a historic milestone as it will be Afghanistan’s first-ever T20I on Pakistani soil, having previously played five ODIs in the country.
The remaining fixtures, including the final on 29 November, will be played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Key preparation ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

PCB ready to host back-to-back global events
Sumair Ahmed Syed, Chief Operating Officer of the PCB, commented:
“We look forward to hosting Sri Lanka and Afghanistan for Pakistan’s maiden T20I tri-series. This event will not only offer excellent preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, but also present fans with exciting cricket across venues.”
The tri-series announcement follows Pakistan’s hosting of two major ICC events earlier this year — the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier. These successful tournaments underscore PCB’s growing capacity to organize back-to-back international events at the highest level.
Packed home season for Pakistan
In addition to the tri-series, Pakistan will also host South Africa for a bilateral series starting 12 October through 8 November. This tour includes:
- 2 Tests (part of ICC World Test Championship 2025–27)
- 3 T20Is
- 3 ODIs
With the tri-series and South Africa tour back-to-back, Pakistan is set for one of its most intense and high-profile home seasons in recent years.
