The NRMA Insurance Pink Test 2026 has set a new fundraising record, raising more than $11.7 million — the highest amount in the event’s 18-year history. The funds will enable the McGrath Foundation to expand its life-changing cancer care support across Australia.
McGrath Foundation President and Co-Founder Glenn McGrath thanked the Australian public for their overwhelming generosity as the Foundation strives to ensure that no one with cancer misses out on care.
“With 1 in 2 people in Australia likely to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, the demand for cancer care has never been greater,” McGrath said. “Thanks to the support of the Australian community, more families in need will receive the life-changing care of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.”
“The Pink Test is like nothing else. People turn up in pink, year after year and wrap their arms around us — whether at the SCG or watching from home, it brings the whole country together.”
Cricket and community unite for cancer care
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg praised the event’s impact, saying the Pink Test once again demonstrated the power of sport to drive meaningful change.
“The NRMA Insurance Pink Test continues to show the powerful role sport can play in driving positive change,” Greenberg said. “The response in 2026 has been outstanding.”
Greenberg also extended his thanks to fans, players, volunteers and commercial partners including NRMA Insurance, whose long-term support has helped build the Pink Test into one of the world’s largest charitable sporting events.
Record crowds turn SCG pink during Ashes finale
Sydney Cricket Ground CEO Kerrie Mather celebrated a record-breaking crowd at the SCG, describing it as a “memorable” conclusion to the Ashes series.
“It’s been a record-breaking week at the Sydney Cricket Ground,” Mather said. “The New Year’s Pink Test continues to grow each year, and we’re incredibly proud to partner with the McGrath Foundation and Cricket Australia to deliver such an impactful event.”
Virtual Pink Seats and Pink Test Auction still open
Supporters can still purchase Virtual Pink Seats until 12 January at pinktest.com.au, with funds going directly to support McGrath Cancer Care Nurses.
The Pink Test Auction is open until 15 January, featuring items like Usman Khawaja’s retirement baggy pink cap and Joe Root’s maiden Sydney century baggy pink, among other exclusive memorabilia.
About the McGrath Foundation
The McGrath Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that no one experiences cancer without the support of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse. Since 2005, the Foundation has supported over 167,000 individuals and families through cancer, and currently funds 343 Cancer Care Nurses across Australia.
The nurses provide free clinical, emotional and psychosocial support to people diagnosed with any type of cancer, regardless of location or referral. It costs approximately $150,000 annually to fund and support each nurse.
