PSL 11 window still open as planning for next season ramps up
As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) prepares to enter its eleventh season, one of the most pressing questions remains unanswered: when will it be played? With the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled for February and March 2026 — the PSL’s usual window — speculation has been mounting that the tournament could once again be shifted to April or May.
The 2025 edition of the league was rescheduled to accommodate the Champions Trophy, and similar logistical challenges loom for next year. However, no official timeline has been confirmed.
CEO Salman Naseer addresses scheduling concerns
Speaking to reporters during a press conference, PSL CEO Salman Naseer addressed the uncertainty surrounding the schedule, clarifying that no final decision has been made:“We haven’t decided the PSL window yet,” Naseer said.
He added that the timeline would only be confirmed once the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), franchise owners, and other stakeholders convene: “We haven’t sat with the stakeholders; once we do, we’ll make the decision,” he added.
Naseer’s remarks come at a time when franchise owners are increasingly eager for clarity. Teams are keen to begin recruitment, finalize logistics, and assess player availability — especially with several international stars expected to be part of the next draft.
Stakeholder discussions key to finalizing schedule
While internal planning has reportedly begun, the league’s official calendar hinges on broader discussions. The PCB and franchise owners are expected to meet in the coming weeks to align priorities and settle on a viable window that doesn’t conflict with major international commitments.
With fan anticipation building and operational planning underway, PSL’s leadership faces mounting pressure to provide certainty around one of the sport’s marquee domestic events. Until then, the countdown to PSL 11 remains without a date.
