As the world comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day, Betway SA20 is proud to recognise the incredible contributions of the women behind-the-scenes who play a significant role in bringing the competition to life.
As South Africa’s premier T20 cricket League, Betway SA20 is committed to empowering women in sport and providing opportunities for them to succeed. The team is made up of talented and dedicated women who work tirelessly to ensure the League operates as one of the best in the world.
From match officials, team operations, photography, digital, media, event operations to ticketing, there is an incredible amount of work which goes into various functions of the competition. In Season 3, the League brought on board a number of interns through the photography internship programme and interns from the Laureus ‘Yes’ Programme, giving emerging young talent in sport an opportunity to work in a high-performing fast-paced sport environment.
Betway SA20 League Commissioner, Graeme Smith, says having a group of dynamic, empowered, and creative women in the business has led to the continued growth and success of the competition.

SA20, officially known as the Betway SA20 for sponsorship reasons, is a Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in South Africa organized by Cricket South Africa (CSA). First held in the 2023 season, the league features six city-based teams. Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the first two editions of the tournament.
