Bangladesh Cricket Board President Tamim Iqbal hosted Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the Pakistan national team at a special reception in Dhaka on Saturday, underlining the growing relationship between the two cricket boards amid the ongoing bilateral series.
The event, attended by Pakistan players, coaching staff, team management and senior Bangladesh Cricket Board officials, also included a formal dinner arranged in honour of the visiting delegation.

The gathering comes at a time when cricket relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan continue to deepen through regular bilateral tours and increased administrative cooperation between the two boards.
BCB and PCB leaders discuss stronger cricket cooperation
During the reception, Tamim Iqbal and Mohsin Naqvi discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board, with both sides focusing on the long-term promotion and development of cricket across the region.
Bangladesh Cricket Board President Tamim Iqbal, while addressing the gathering, welcomed the visiting Pakistan contingent by saying: “We extend our heartfelt welcome to you on your arrival in Dhaka.”
Speaking during the reception, Mohsin Naqvi said: “Cricket has not only connected our teams but has also brought our hearts closer. Bilateral series have further strengthened relations between the two countries.”
Naqvi also thanked the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the hospitality extended to the Pakistan side during the tour.
Pakistan battle back in Mirpur Test
The off-field engagements took place alongside the opening Test in Mirpur, where Pakistan responded strongly after Bangladesh posted 413 in the first innings. By the end of day three, Bangladesh had reached 7 without loss in their second innings after securing a 27-run first-innings lead.
Pakistan were bowled out for 386 after debutant Azan Awais scored a century in his first Test innings. Abdullah Fazal contributed 60, while Mohammad Rizwan made 59 and Salman Ali Agha added 58 as Pakistan recovered through multiple middle-order partnerships after Imam-ul-Haq had earlier scored 45 at the top of the order.
For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed 5-102, while Taskin Ahmed returned figures of 2-70 and Taijul Islam finished with 2-46. Earlier in the match, Bangladesh’s first innings was led by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 101, alongside contributions from Mominul Haque (91) and Mushfiqur Rahim (71). Mohammad Abbas led Pakistan’s bowling attack with 5-92, while Shaheen Afridi picked up 3-113.
