Reporting to the Event Director (QLD), in this role you will be a part of a highly energized Event Experience and Operations team. As the Event Manager (QLD) you will work to build strong relationships and bring stakeholders together to plan and deliver international and relevant domestic cricket matches in Queensland, ensuring an engaging and memorable experience for all.

About The Role

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Working across the business and with stakeholders to deliver an integrated and memorable experience at match, ensuring all requirements are met;
  • Leading the event management, operational planning and delivery of Cricket Australia’s fan-facing cricket content and event experience within Queensland and the Northern Territory;
  • Engaging and forming strong connections with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Supporting and contributing to contingency planning, escalation of issues and event safety;
  • Ensuring compliance of all contractual obligations and agreements;
  • Supporting the delivery of seasonal and functional project areas targeted at improving fan and participant experiences;
  • Planning, managing and reconciling Event Budgets, and working to identify efficiencies and opportunities to maximise the experience for fans and customers;
  • Supporting the Event Director with regards to coordinating the delivery of the Event Experience and Operations strategy and framework.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Qualifications

  • Sports Management Degree (desirable), or other relevant tertiary qualifications.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Major sport event planning and project management experience, with proven ability to work autonomously and react to urgent demands.
  • Proven ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • Ability to deliver an engaging customer and event experience at sporting matches.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaborative working.
  • Proven ability to delegate tasks.
  • Knowledge of Live Event Management Systems.
  • Highly personable and customer service focused.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in major international events management.
