Over 10 million fans have now attended KFC Big Bash League matches, reaffirming the impact the League has had on the past 12 Australian summers.

The milestone was achieved at tonight’s ‘The Knockout’ Final between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat, with the 10 millionth attendee entering the gates at Marvel Stadium shortly before the game.

With an official crowd at tonight’s match at Marvel Stadium of 10, 699, the KFC BBL’s all-time attendance figure has surpassed 10 million across 12 seasons and 550 matches to date.

Additionally, the total attendance for KFC BBL|12 now sits at 950,468 through 59 matches. It is anticipated that the one millionth fan for the season will attend either next week’s Challenger or Final.

It would be the sixth time the BBL has welcomed over one million fans in a season and represent a strong return to pre-covid numbers.

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s General Manager Big Bash Leagues, said:

“Reaching 10 million fans is a huge achievement and we’d like to thank every single person who has attended a Big Bash game since its inception in 2011.

“The fans are at the heart of the Big Bash and after a challenging couple of years, it has been amazing to see them back in full force for BBL|12. We look forward to celebrating one million fans this season at The Challenger or The Final this week.”

With only two games remaining in the KFC BBL|12 Final series, the Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat remain in the race for the Championship Trophy.

Tickets to the KFC BBL|12 season are available at cricket.com.au/big-bash

Every Finals match will be broadcast live on Seven, Foxtel, Kayo Sports and SEN.
