Bio

Shammi Silva currently serves the Sri Lanka Cricket as President, a role he was first elected for in February 2019 before being re-elected unopposed for a 2nd term in May 2021.

Previously, Silva served Sri Lanka Cricket as Treasurer from 2016 to 2019 and as Vice-President.

Silva represents Sri Lanka on the ICC Board of Directors and sits on the ICC Audit Committee as a member.

Silva has also been serving as the President of Colombo Cricket Club, owned and administered by Colombo Gymkhana Club, of which he is also the and was previously Chairman as well.

Silva is also the Chairman of the Finance and Marketing Committees of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), having been appointed in June 2021, and is also an Executive Board Member of the ACC and a member of its Development Committee.

Prior to his professional working career, he played cricket for the Colombo Cricket Club in 1983/84 and was a Sri Lankan National Squash Player before becoming the Manager and Coach for the Sri Lankan Squash Team.

Silva, who has over 20 years of experience in Cricket Administration and Management, was educated at Nalanda College, Colombo.
