The 2023 Fairbreak Invitational cricket tournament is taking place in Hong Kong from 3 April to 16 April, and once again will have Irish representation, as Gaby Lewis will re-unite with Team Sapphires for the second year in a row.

Also, 27-times capped Irish International, Celeste Raack will be part of the Warriors side as their team physio.

The Fairbreak Invitational is a privately funded women’s cricket tournament organised by Founder and MD of Fairbreak Global, Shaun Martyn, in conjunction with Cricket Hong Kong.

The global women’s cricket tournament will feature some of the world’s best players, including Katherin Sciver-Brunt, Deandra Dottin, Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp, Chamari Athapaththu, Danni Wyatt, Bismah Maroof, Suné Luus, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Fatima Sana, Hayley Matthews, Jahanara Alam, Shabnim Ismail along with many others.

The tournament will feature 90 players from 36 countries & territories, in six teams playing 20 matches. All the games will be played at the Kowloon Cricket Club in Hong Kong. The six teams are the Warriors, Sapphires, Tornadoes, Barmy Army, Falcons, and Team Spirit. 

The Tornadoes are the defending champions, having defeated the Falcons by eight wickets in 2022.

Matches featuring Gaby Lewis

  • Sapphires v Warriors: Tuesday 4 April at 3am (Irish time).
  • Sapphires v Team Spirit: Friday 7 April at 3am (Irish time).
  • Sapphires v Tornadoes: Sunday 9 April at 3am (Irish time).
  • Sapphires v Falcons: Tuesday 11 April at 3am (Irish time).
  • Sapphires v Barmy Army: Wednesday 12 April at 3am (Irish time).

The finals stage then follows:
  • Third/Fouth place playoff: Friday 15 April at 3am (Irish time).
  • First semi-final: Saturday 15 April at 3am (Irish time).
  • Second semi-final: Saturday 15 April at 7am (Irish time).
  • Final: Sunday 16 April at 3am (Irish time).
