Up-and-coming fast bowler Ella Wilson has re-signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the WBBL|09 season.

Wilson was part of the Championship winning squad in WBBL|08 and will be striving to breakthrough for her debut WBBL match this summer.

A handy middle-order batter too, Wilson made her List A debut in the 2022/23 season, playing three games for the SA Scorpions in the WNCL and taking three wickets.

Her ability in the T20 format of the game is obvious, with Wilson earning the Shelley Nitschke Medal as the most outstanding player of SACA’s T20 Cup in 2019/20, while playing with Glenelg as a 16-year-old.

The right-arm quick has also captained South Australia in underage squads.

Wilson said she is looking forward to another summer with the Strikers.

“It was amazing to be part of the Championship last season and I’m excited to be in the squad again in WBBL|09,” Wilson said.

“I learned a lot last year and I’m keen to see where that experience will help take me this summer.”

Strikers Assistant Coach Nicole Bolton said she is excited by Wilson’s potential.

“Ella is a great all-round cricketer with her ability to bowl fast, contribute with the bat and she’s also brilliant in the field,” Bolton said.

“With a full season of WBBL experience under her belt, we are looking forward to seeing how far she can take her cricket.”

Wilson is the second Striker so far to re-sign with the WBBL side, after spinner Jemma Barsby re-signed earlier in the year.
