Two upcoming WBBL stars have put pen to paper ahead of WBBL|09.

Ahead of the upcoming WBBL|09 season, off spinner Sophie Day and batter Sophie Reid have put pen to paper on new deals for the Stars.

Day, who has been with the Stars for the last three seasons, has committed to the club until the end of WBBL|10.

“Sophie’s continual improvement and her dedication to her craft has been a standout over the last couple of summers,” said General Manager Blair Crouch.

“We’re really excited to see her continue that development and where that might take her over the next couple of years.”

Day said she was thrilled to secure her future for the next two seasons.

“This group is building something special and I want to be a part of that.

“We’re a really tight knit group, we love spending time with each other, and we cannot wait to be back in October.”

As well as the ability to keep, Reid has been deployed across a number of positions in the top and middle order.

“One of Sophie’s strengths is her flexibility in her batting, we’ve seen her up the top of the order as well as through the middle,” said Crouch.

“In just her second season as a full-time cricketer, she has a lot of scope for improvement this year.”

Reid said she gained a lot of confidence throughout the duration of WBBL|08.

“Last year was an absolute whirlwind but I was able to learn so much and I can’t wait to experience it all again this season,”

“To be able to run out onto the MCG in November will be a highlight of all of our careers.”
